Sheri McGathy's short story, "The Birth of
Spring" won a Dream Realm Award in the Young Adult category!
July 2007
Sheri McGathy is a double finalist in the Dream
Realm Awards! Her short story, "The Birth of Spring" is a finalist
in the Young Adult category, and The Stygian Soul is a
finalist in the Anthology category. Sheri was an editor of the
anthology as well as a contributor.

secretary of the professional organization of multi-published
authors of genre fiction.

Celebrating Books, Art and Kansas Heritage.

2006 Linda Madl
will present two workshops at the Kansas Author’s Club Convention
and Writing Conference in Junction City, Kansas, Sept. 29-Oct 1.
Workshop titles are “Great Beginnings: Romantic and Otherwise”
and “Your Setting is More than a Stage.” The conference theme is
“Painting Your Canvas with Words” with the keynote speaker is

Garretson, Sheri L. McGathy, and Linda Madl presented readings from Trespassing
Time: Ghost Stories from the Prairie to the Manhattan Public
Library Association annual meeting. The presentation was covered by
the Kansas State Collegian.
April 2006 Jerri was a
featured author at the both the Scott City Young Authors
Reception in Scott City, Kansas on April 9th and the Emporia Young
Authors Conference in Emporia, Kansas on April 22nd.

Linda Madl spoke to the patrons of the Louisburg Public Library in
honor of Valentine’s Day. Her topic was “Why I Write Romance and
Why Women Read It.” The event was covered by the local newspaper.
December 2005 Linda
Madl’s Scottish historical romance, Speak of Love, was
released by Hard Shell Word Factory and is available in ebook or
paperback. Linda traveled to the wild shores of the Isle of Skye to
do background research for this story of love and betrayal during
the English Civil war.

- Jerri Garretson's The Secret of Whispering Springs
has been selected as an Accelerated Reader title and will be offered
by PermaBound Books.
January 2004
- Sheri McGathy is a
triple EPPIE award finalist! Twilight Crossings is in the
running for Best Anthology; Sheri's novella "Thief of
Dreams" from that anthology is also a finalist in the Fantasy
category. Sheri's short story "The Ancient One," from the
anthology From Within the Mist, is also a Fantasy finalist.
Both anthologies were published by Double Dragon Publishing.
The EPPIE awards are an annual contest to recognize the best in
electronically-published fiction and non-fiction, and are sponsored
by EPIC, a professional organization for electronically-published
authors.
October 2003 - The
Great Manhattan Mystery Conclave is coming to Kansas in October,
2004! With "Celebration of a Small Town Mystery" as the
theme, this myster-lovers' fan convention will feature authors,

out in 2004, as well as her second novel, Within the Shadow of Stone,

June 2003 - Jerri
Garretson's The Secret of Whispering Springs was selected
by the Pennsylvania Association of School Librarians as one of the
top Young Adult books of 2002. It is nominated for consideration of
the Kansas William Allen White List and the South Carolina book
award list. Actual selections will be named in the fall.

April, 2005 The four Trespassing Time authors launched their new book with presentations on writing ghost stories and the "stories behind the stories" beginning with the Kansas Library Association Triconference in
Overland Park, Kansas on April 1, 2005.
April 2005 Linda Madl is currently serving as Secretary on the Board of Novelist, Inc., a professional organization of multi-published authors, and
visited New York for the annual conference in April.
In June, Linda Madl will sit on a panel at the Jesse James Conference in Liberty, Missouri. Her novel, SUNNY, featured an appearance of the legendary
outlaw.
Sheri L. McGathy has made the semi-finals in the 2005 IPPY (The Ninth Annual Independent Publisher Book Award) for Best Fantasy/Science Fiction with her book
Within the Shadow of Stone.

Garretson's article, "The Giant Made Me Do It," is featured in the Winter 2004 issue of the
Kansas Journal of Reading.
October, 2004 Jerri Garretson was one of six American author-illustrators chosen to present programs to over 300 children at the Fort Hays State University Young Readers Conference in October.
